“Tukhya” object
A steel object reinterpreting the traditional Chuvash women’s headdress. It was created for the exhibition “Entering the Liminal” in Tbilisi, dedicated to Tatar and Bashkir mythology. I was born in Cheboksary and I am Chuvash. In Soviet times, ethnic diversity was suppressed, and I grew up with the feeling that my culture was insignificant. This work became my first conscious touch to my roots.
