About me
Ekaterina Ilina
1991 / Russia
Visual artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia
Artist statement
My artistic practice weaves together painting, textile, and mosaic to explore themes of memory, cultural identity, and resilience. I engage deeply with materials—whether oil on canvas, deconstructed domestic fabrics, or stone and glass—using each medium to examine the tension between permanence and impermanence, personal and collective experience. Inspired by the visual codes of femininity, Jungian psychology, and Buddhist philosophy, my work meditates on the unseen labor of women, the search for inner stability, and the sacred within the everyday. Through intuitive brushwork, layered textiles, and mosaic compositions, I construct spaces where history, emotion, and spiritual reflection converge. At its core, my practice is a process of transformation—of materials, of memory, and of the self—inviting the viewer into a quiet dialogue with the intimate and the eternal.
